Coins to Cash

July 22nd, 2011 at 02:53 am

I took all of our household coins to the bank today. We had $24.12. I do this about four times a year, and it seems like there's always between $20 and $25 worth of change.

I used to do this, too. And I would apply it to debt. It is a bit harder now that we bank online. I just try to spend the change that accumulates in my wallet now.

Our daughter did this recently and she got 6 leva (between 4 and 5 dollars) and boy, did that lead to some excitement! She's 6 years old and felt like the richest kid in the world. It's nice to have some insurance that the coins can add to something concrete, rather than just ending up in the soda machine, though.
